FAQ

  • Q What is the maximum weight capacity of the S models?

A It depends on the model, please visit our Compare Models page a comparison of each models technical specifications.
  • Q What is the maximum distance range for a electric scooter/wheelchair?

    A
The maximum distance range for an electric scooter or wheelchair can vary depending on several factors:
1.Battery Capacity: The size and capacity of the battery significantly affect the range. Larger batteries typically provide a longer range.

2.Motor Efficiency: The efficiency of the electric motor also plays a role. High-efficiency motors can extend the range by maximizing battery usage.

3.Terrain: The terrain on which the scooter or wheelchair is used impacts the range. Flat surfaces allow for better efficiency than rough terrain or steep inclines.

4.Speed: The speed at which the scooter or wheelchair is operated can affect the range. Higher speeds typically drain the battery faster.

5.User Weight: The weight of the rider can influence the range. Heavier users may experience slightly shorter ranges compared to lighter users.

6.Weather Conditions: Extreme temperatures, strong winds, and precipitation can affect battery performance and, consequently, the range.

Generally, electric scooters and wheelchairs can have a range anywhere from 5 miles to over 30 miles on a single charge, depending on these factors. It's essential to check the specifications for the specific model you've got to determine its maximum distance range.
  • Q What type of battery does Solax mobilities use?

A Our foldable scooter/power chairs use the latest in Lithium-ion polymer (LiPo) battery technology. Lithium batteries produce a longer range than standard acid batteries and last significantly longer (often up to 1000 charge cycles).
  • Q How long does is take the battery to charge?

    A
About 6 to 8 hours to full charge (from no-charge).
My scooter/power chair powers up, but won’t move.
Make sure the scooter /power chair is in gear. If you can push the power chair, it is in neutral. There are two freewheel levers on power chairs. They both must be in the “locked” position for the scooter /power chair to move. If it is in the freewheel mode, it will light up but the wheels will not turn.
  • Q Where Can I Store My Mobility Scooter?

    A
1.Indoors: If you have enough space indoors, like a garage, shed, or spare room, this can be an ideal option. It protects your scooter from weather damage and theft.

2.Outdoors with Shelter: If indoor space is limited, consider outdoor storage with a protective cover or shelter. A weatherproof cover can help shield it from rain, sun, and dust.

3.Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Lithium batteries perform best within a specific temperature range. Ideally, they should be stored in temperatures between 50°F to 77°F (10°C to 25°C). Extreme cold or heat can degrade the battery's performance and lifespan.

4.Protect from Direct Sunlight: Direct exposure to sunlight, especially in hot climates, can cause the battery temperature to rise significantly. Store the scooter in a shaded area to prevent overheating of the battery.
  • Q Will you carry it in a car ?

A Most small and medium scooters can be easily dismantled and placed in the boot of most cars. Most small and medium scooters will fit into station wagons and some hatchbacks without dismantling, except that the seat usually has to be removed. Many people carry a ramp to load their scooter into a station wagon or hatchback. All scooters will fit into vans without removing the seat provided any van seats don’t get in the way. Scooters & Mobility offers a scooter lifter that will lift smaller scooters into a boot, station wagon or van.
